SSS issues violation notices to 12 Iloilo City businesses

The Social Security System (SSS) conducted another “Race Against Contribution Evaders” (RACE) operation on Tuesday, May 7, in Iloilo City, as part of its ongoing efforts to tackle delinquent payments.

During this operation, 12 business establishments were issued violation notices for failing to comply with contribution requirements, with the delinquent employers owing approximately PHP 900,000 in unpaid contributions. The establishments were monitored by the Iloilo Central and Molo branches.

The RACE operation represents a strategic shift for the SSS, moving from confrontational methods to more community-based and diplomatic strategies to address compliance issues.

SSS officials emphasized the importance of timely contributions for the benefit of employees and for maintaining the stability and sustainability of the social security system.

The issued violation notices give the delinquent employers a 15-day window to coordinate with their respective SSS branch offices and settle their outstanding contribution delinquencies. Failure to do so within this period could result in additional actions by the SSS.

The SSS stated that the operation is part of its ongoing effort to ensure compliance with social security laws and to encourage employers to meet their legal obligations.

Further RACE operations are planned across the country.

Employers are encouraged to resolve their contribution issues promptly to avoid further penalties.
