Sports office eyes inter-agency basketball league

After the Mayor Jerry P. Treñas Dinagyang basketball Cup, the Iloilo City Sports Development Division is planning to pursue an inter-agency basketball tournament.

The purpose of the basketball tournament is to strengthen the bond and maintain a certain closeness between the companies within Iloilo City, for these agencies work hand-in-hand in the city.

According to Sports office executive assistant Mr. Rudiver Jungco Sr., the initial plan is to invite all interested agencies and create the tournament format through it.

Furthermore, depending on the outcome of the planned 2020 league, the Iloilo City government will try to make the inter-agency tourney happen annually.

“Pagkatapos gid sang aton nga Mayor Treñas Dinagyang tournament, we are planning to hold an inter-agency basketball tournament exclusive only for the agencies based here in Iloilo. Ang main purpose sini sang league nga ini is to create a certain bond sa aton mga agencies. Para maka create ease when both agencies deal with each other and to maintain a certain level of friendship through the years,” Jungco told the Daily Guardian in an interview.
