Fight fans, the dream match you’ve all been waiting for was just granted.
After a series of failed negotiations to stage one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing, Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford finally confirmed their blockbuster match set on July 29, 2023, at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
The most-anticipated welterweight unification bout was supposed to take place on November 19, 2022, in Las Vegas but both camps weren’t able to settle their dispute over contract negotiations.
However, both Spence Jr. and Crawford shocked the boxing world again last May 27, 2023, when they announced that they already agreed to the terms of conditions of the fight and are ready to go this July.
After Spence Jr. posted the fight confirmation on his social media accounts, Crawford was quick to clap back which again drove the boxing community crazy including several legends.
“Finally giving the fans what they want. This one is a throwback fight on paper, but it could be a one-sided ass whooping. One of the biggest fights of the century!” wrote Spence Jr. Crawford then posted on his own: “Time to reel in the big fish. No more talking. Let’s get it.”
Spence is coming off a convincing victory to snatch the WBA Super welterweight belt from Yordenis Ugas last April and improved his professional boxing record to 28 wins, no losses, and 22 knockouts.
The boxing superstar currently holds three of the belts in the welterweight division: the WBA super welterweight, and the WBC and IBF championship straps.
Meanwhile, Crawford also dazzled in his last fight against David Avanesyan and scored an impressive knockout win for his 39th victory in his career.
Before taking on Avanesyan, Crawford also took down former welterweight champion Shawn Porter which forced him to retire from the sport.
Several analysts already revealed their bold predictions and are still on a 50/50 radar. Who do you think will win? Spence Jr., or Crawford?
