Seven Western Visayas lawmakers record perfect House attendance

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Capiz 1st District Rep. Ivan Howard A. Guintu and six other Western Visayas lawmakers recorded perfect attendance during all 39 plenary sessions of the First Regular Session of the 20th Congress.
House records covered the period from July 28, 2025, to June 3, 2026.
The other lawmakers were Iloilo City Rep. Julienne “Jam” L. Baronda and Iloilo 1st District Rep. Janette L. Garin.
Antique lone district Rep. Antonio Agapito “AA” B. Legarda Jr. was also on the list.
Aklan Reps. Jesus “Jess” R. Marquez of the 1st District and Florencio T. Miraflores of the 2nd District also had perfect attendance.
Guimaras lone district Rep. JC Rahman A. Nava completed the Western Visayas lawmakers on the list.
House Resolution 1394 seeks to commend 98 representatives who attended every plenary session during the regular session.
Speaker Faustino “Bojie” G. Dy III, Majority Leader Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” A. Marcos, Minority Leader Marcelino C. Libanan and House Committee on Ethics and Privileges chair JC M. Abalos filed the resolution Aug. 25.
The measure was referred to the House Committee on Rules and remained pending there since Aug. 26.
The resolution would provide each honoree with a copy and an official commendation.
Its authors said regular attendance helps sustain legislative deliberations and timely lawmaking.
“Perfect attendance shouldn’t make headlines. Ideally, showing up and doing the work should be the norm for every public servant,” Abalos said in an official House statement.
