BACOLOD City – Seven personnel of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) with relatives running for this year’s Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) have been reassigned early this month.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ronnie Brillo, deputy city director for operations of BCPO, said that two commissioned officers and five non-commissioned officers were reassigned to different units and police stations here.
The two commissioned officers are deputy commanders of Police Stations 1 and 2.
The move ensures that they will not influence or will not affect the conduct of the elections next month, Brillo said.
“Para indi sila kahatag biases and dapat non-partisan lang,” he added.
He said that while the election is approaching, reassignment of police officers is still possible, especially if the BCPO receives complaints from candidates against their personnel that may influence the BSKE.
Meanwhile, Brillo said that they are finalizing the security plan for the BSKE, considering that the celebration of the MassKara Festival will also be in October.
