Senior Citizen Killed, Driver Hurt in Capiz Road Crash

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A senior citizen was killed while a tricycle driver was injured when their motor tricycle was hit by a sports utility vehicle on Wednesday morning, April 23, in Barangay Ensenagan, Panitan, Capiz.
The fatality was identified as Rodelita Dorado, 65, while the injured driver was Joel Dario, 61, both residents of the said area.
The driver of the white SUV was identified as Juan Bernales, 65, of Barangay Poblacion Ilawod, Maayon, Capiz.
According to the Panitan Municipal Police Station, the victims were traveling from Barangay Ensenagan to Barangay Bailan when the SUV rear-ended their tricycle along the national highway.
Dorado sustained fatal injuries to the head and other parts of the body and was declared dead on arrival at Bailan District Hospital.
Dario sustained minor injuries and is currently in stable condition.
Bernales is currently in the custody of the Panitan Municipal Police Station for proper disposition.
