San Miguel places Terrence Romeo on active roster list amid injury woes

The San Miguel Beermen might be laying down all of their cards to desperately barge into the 2022 PBA Commissioner’s Cup playoffs.

With their season on the line due to injury woes that kept their lineup inconsistent in the import-laced conference, the Beermen made a crucial decision to elevate superstar guard Terrence Romeo into the active roster and might see action in their next game.

Romeo is yet to return to the hardwood since March 18, 2022 when the Meralco Bolts took down San Miguel during the Governor’s Cup.

After the Governor’s Cup, the flashy guard still missed the All-Filipino conference after revealing the underlying back injury that kept him out until now.

It was San Miguel’s team manager Gee Abanilla who announced that Romeo will be on the active roster and might return anytime soon.

However, Abanilla explained that it is still up to Romeo if he is ready to get back and go play with the team or choose to further heal his back injury to get to his top shape.

San Miguel will need to sweep their three remaining games against the Terrafirma Dyip, TNT Tropang Giga, and Meralco to place themselves safe for the postseason.

Currently, the Beermen are in the seventh spot of the standings with a 4-5 win-loss record the same as the Bolts.

A lot of positive things await the Beermen for their one last push after having six-time Most Valuable Player (MVP) June Mar Fajardo back.

The towering center from Cebu missed all of their games in a two-month time frame after suffering a throat injury that needed to undergo surgery.

Fajardo already donned his uniform and participated in the warm-up during their game against the Magnolia Chicken Timplados but is yet to receive a final decision from the Beermen’s medical team.

Aside from Fajardo, the team already found a hardworking import in Devon Scott who can crash the boards, shoot from the outside, and run the plays.

San Miguel will kick off its last playoff push today when they square off against the rejuvenated Dyip squad that is coming off a momentum-boosting win last week.
