One of the key pieces to San Beda Red Lions’ dominant NCAA run is leaving and will instead don the familiar green and white of another UAAP team.
Prized point guard Evan Nelle, tagged as San Beda’s “silent operator,” was reportedly absent in four practice sessions of the Red Lions.
League sources then confirmed that Nelle will be joining the De La Salle Green Archers despite being enrolled in the second semester at San Beda.
Nelle first set foot in competitive basketball as a member of the De La Salle-Zobel in grade school then transferred to San Beda during his secondary playing years.
With Nelle’s reported departure from the team, the Red Lions are looking to regroup and keep everybody on the same page after losing center Donald Tankoua, Ilonggo forward Clint Doliguez, and scorer AC Soberano.
