The San Antonio Spurs remain the hottest team in the NBA after dominating the Brooklyn Nets, 126-110, and picked up their 11th consecutive regular-season victory on Feb. 27, 2026.
Despite coming off a comeback effort against the Toronto Raptors, the Spurs showed no signs of slowing down, repelling the Nets on the road in front of a raucous 17,548 fans who flocked to the Barclays Center.
San Antonio quickly dropped the hammer in the first 12 minutes of action as the visiting Western Conference squad built a comfortable 14-point lead entering the second quarter, 36-22.
Waxing hot early for the Spurs was starting shooting guard Julian Champagnie, who set the tone for San Antonio with two quick 3-pointers and several fast-break layups.
As soon as Champagnie found the stroke from downtown, everything just fell in San Antonio’s favor, with Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle combining for a demoralizing 13-0 run a minute before the first quarter ended.
That first-quarter rampage was all the Spurs needed to take full control of the game’s pace, forcing the Nets to hoist rushed attempts in hopes of trimming their double-digit deficit quickly.
Midway through the third quarter, Brooklyn found itself in a brief scoring groove after Michael Porter Jr. went unconscious from the field, but the one-two punch of Devin Vassell and De’Aaron Fox countered on the other end, which helped restore order for the Spurs.
Vassell kicked off San Antonio’s third-quarter resurgence with back-to-back coast-to-coast layups, followed by a Fox mid-range clinic that capped off the frame with a 33-point outburst.
The Nets fed the hot hands of Porter Jr. and ran a series of curl plays to free him up from the baseline, but no matter how the forward scored the leather, the Spurs just had plenty of answers — a testament to their much-improved and deadlier offensive artillery.
Champagnie was a walking bucket for the Spurs, top-scoring the game with 26 points built from an efficient 10-of-14 shooting from the field, including six 3-pointers.
Castle picked up where he left off from that thrilling win against the Raptors, backstopping Champagnie with 18 markers, five assists, two rebounds and two steals.
Fox and Vassell each chipped in 14 points, while Wembanyama nearly tallied a triple-double after recording 12 points, eight boards, five dimes, two steals and two blocks.
The Spurs will aim for their 12th consecutive NBA victory on March 2, 2026, against Jalen Brunson and the New York Knicks, while Brooklyn seeks to end its six-game losing streak today against the Boston Celtics.
