A salesman was found dead outside his home in Estancia, Iloilo, early Tuesday, May 19.
The victim, identified by the alias Ricky, 48, was found in a pool of blood by a neighbor outside the gate of his home at Purok 1, Barangay Tacbuyan, around 1:29 a.m.
Reports said he was lying in an inclined position and had a stab wound in the abdomen.
According to the victim’s wife, Ricky left home and went to work at the feeder port in Poblacion Zone 2, Estancia, around 11 p.m. May 18.
Reports said the victim later left the feeder port with another man who rode on his motorcycle.
Investigators theorized that the same person may have stabbed the victim.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the back rider, whom Ricky had offered a ride, to allegedly stab him.
Police investigators are looking into the possibility that the killing was money-related.
Police are still verifying whether the victim had PHP 100,000 in cash with him during the incident.
CCTV footage is being collected to strengthen the case against the identified person of interest.
