The Department of Science and Technology Region VI’s (DOST VI) Safe, Swift, and Smart Passage (S-PaSS) Travel Management System was presented the Agency Governance Innovation Award during the 2022 Science for the People (SFTP) Awards, June 13.
As DOST celebrates its 64th Founding Anniversary, the first SFTP Awards was created to honor contributions and innovations of its partners towards continuously developing the national Science, Technology, and Innovations (STI) network in pursuit of realizing DOST’s goals.
Specifically, the Agency Governance Innovation Awards won by DOST VI S-PaSS recognizes regional DOST agencies that create and introduce innovative solutions, measures, policies, or interventions to improve the delivery of quality services to their constituents.
Moreover, the Department of Agriculture Region VI was granted the Outstanding National Government Agency Partner Award. In this award, a National Government Agency is distinguished for its collaboration with the DOST and its attached agencies to successfully promote, develop, and/or transfer STI to generate a positive socio-economic impact.
Herbanext Laboratories, Inc. also bagged the award for the Outstanding Science and Technology (S&T) Partner Award as Industry Partner and a runner-up citation for the SFTP Award for MSME Development. The former is presented firms that have shown outstanding contributions and accomplished dynamic collaborations in the STI field by playing an important role in pioneering relevant scientific knowledge, innovative and commercially viable technologies that propel the Filipino economy forward.
Additionally, the Municipality of Sibalom, Antique was honored as a runner-up for the SFTP Award for Community Development.
