Anticipating the surge in COVID-19 cases since December 2021, the Roxas City government decided to beef up its stocks of the Molnupiravir anti-COVID-19 pill.
Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas said he already expected cases to surge in January 2022 which indeed happened.
The city’s Molnupiravir stocks were already running low when the second batch ordered by the local government arrived.

The latest stocks included 20,000 tablets, double the number of the first batch.
“We are assured that even if cases surge, we have ready medicines against COVID which we will give free to patients from Roxas City who are in our treatment facilities. They can avail of the medicine if they have mild to moderate symptoms as assessed by our City Health Office doctors,” Dadivas said.
