BACOLOD City -The Rotary Club of Bacolod turned-over the 2-classroom building to the faculty of Julia Montilla Mapa Memorial Elementary School in Brgy. Crossing Magallon, Moises Padilla recently.
The project was realized through the help of Mrs. Remedios Tan Sy in memory of her spouse Sy Boon Pit; Past District Governor Edgar Sy who financed and construction and Past President Gregory Mapa who donated the property.
The inauguration and blessing of the building was preceded by a mass, followed by the turnover of the ceremonial key to the school principal, Merly Dionela and Parents-Teachers Association President, Marides de Juan in the presence of schoolchildren, faculty members, parents, village officials and members of RC Bacolod.
Club president, Frederick Anthony de Leon said that given the increasing number of students enrolled at the school, the two new classrooms which was implemented by Past President Jose Glenn de Guzman, will help provide a conducive learning and teaching environment that will benefit over 117 students and complement the existing 5-classroom facility.
