A suspected robber died of electrocution while he tried to escape in Balasan, Iloilo.
The body of Julie Billones, 39, a resident of Purok 2, Barangay Zaragosa, Balasan, was discovered around 4 am of Nov 22.
Captain Samuel Vipinosa, Balasan police chief, said Billones was found lifeless in a fetal position and apparently tried to crawl through a gap he made in the bamboo fence of the house owned by a certain Cherca dela Cuesta.
In his haste to flee, the suspect may have touched a live wire attached to a portion of the bamboo fence.
Billones was still holding a knife when found. Police also found near his body a SatLite digital TV box, which was allegedly owned by the dela Cuestas.
Vipinosa said Billones appeared to have used the same spot as his entry point to dela Cuesta’s house.
Although it was believed that he came to burglarize the house, police had yet to dig criminal records associated to Billones.
