GUIMARAS — The Philippine Statistics Authority Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office surpassed its National ID registration target for the first semester of 2026, registering 4,643 individuals and achieving 110.5% of its target workload of 4,200 registrants.
“The notable accomplishment demonstrates PSA-Guimaras’ unwavering commitment to ensuring that every Guimarasnon has access to the National ID, the country’s foundational identification system that provides Filipinos and resident aliens with a secure and verifiable proof of identity,” Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare said.
“Through the National ID, registrants gain easier access to government and private sector services, financial institutions, healthcare, education, and social protection programs,” Losare added.
Losare said the first-semester achievement was made possible through intensified registration strategies implemented across the province.
“PSA-Guimaras conducted mobile registration activities in barangays, and government offices, complemented by house-to-house registration, participation in government service caravans, and collaboration with local government units and partner agencies,” Losare said.
These initiatives enabled the office to reach more residents, particularly those in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas, senior citizens, persons with disabilities, Indigenous peoples, children, and other underserved sectors.
The registration accomplishment was carried out by two registration kit operators, who registered 15 individuals per operator per working day, reflecting the efficiency and dedication of the registration teams in delivering quality public service.
Since the rollout of the National ID System in 2021, PSA-Guimaras has registered a cumulative total of 169,679 Guimarasnons as of the first semester of 2026, equivalent to 87.97% of the province’s total population of 192,874 based on the 2024 Census of Population.
Since National ID registration for children up to 4 years old began in 2022, PSA-Guimaras has registered a cumulative total of 6,047 children as of the first semester of 2026, supporting the government’s initiative to establish a lifelong legal and digital identity for every Filipino from an early age.
Losare attributed the province’s accomplishment to the collective efforts of PSA personnel, local government units, barangay officials, partner agencies, and other stakeholders who continuously support the implementation of the National ID System in Guimaras.
“Surpassing our first semester registration target reflects the dedication of our personnel and the invaluable support of our partner stakeholders,” Losare said.
“This achievement is more than meeting a numerical target, it represents thousands of Guimarasnons who can now enjoy easier access to government services, financial opportunities, and other benefits made possible through the National ID,” Losare added.
She said PSA-Guimaras will continue to intensify its registration efforts to reach the remaining unregistered residents in the province.
“While we celebrate this milestone, our work continues. We remain committed to bringing National ID registration closer to every barangay through mobile registration activities and community-based initiatives to ensure that no Guimarasnon is left behind,” Losare said.
Aside from registration, PSA-Guimaras continues to provide various National ID services through its Fixed Registration Center and mobile registration teams.
“These services include National ID registration, issuance of paper National IDs, National ID updating, Transaction Reference Number (TRN) retrieval and issuance, biometric recapture, authentication services, assistance in generating the Digital National ID, and processing of rejected registration packets,” Losare said.
“These services ensure that registrants receive continuous support even after completing their initial registration,” Losare added.
Registered individuals who have not yet received their physical National ID card may visit the PSA Guimaras Fixed Registration Center on the ground floor of Galanto Building, Mosqueda Village, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras, to obtain their National ID in paper form or seek assistance in generating their Digital National ID through the eGovPH application.
“Both the National ID in paper form and the Digital National ID are recognized as valid proof of identity for transactions with government agencies and participating private establishments, subject to the relying party’s verification procedures,” Losare said.
To further expand National ID coverage, PSA-Guimaras will continue conducting National ID mobile registration activities from July 6 to 11, 2026, in various communities across the province.
“Registration teams will visit Barangay Cabano (San Lorenzo) on July 6; Barangay Suclaran (San Lorenzo) and Barangay San Roque (Nueva Valencia) on July 7; Barangay Lanipe (Nueva Valencia) and Barangay Aguilar (San Lorenzo) on July 8; Barangay Panobolon (Nueva Valencia) and Barangay Balcon Maravilla (Jordan) on July 9; Barangay Santa Teresa (Jordan) on July 10; and Inday Leah Subdivision, Barangay San Miguel, Jordan on July 11,” Losare said.
The successful implementation of the National ID program in Guimaras highlights PSA’s commitment to strengthening identity management and supporting the government’s digital transformation agenda.
Through the combined efforts of PSA personnel, local government units, and partner stakeholders, the office remains steadfast in bringing National ID services closer to every community in the province.
“As we continue to strengthen the implementation of the National ID System, we remain committed to bringing our services closer to every community in Guimaras. Through our Fixed Registration Center and mobile registration activities, we aim to ensure that every eligible Guimarasnon has access to a trusted and secure proof of identity that opens opportunities for easier access to public and private services,” Losare said.
PSA-Guimaras encourages all remaining unregistered residents to visit the nearest mobile registration site or the PSA Guimaras Fixed Registration Center to access National ID services.
“For updates on registration schedules and other National ID-related services, the public may follow the official PSA Guimaras Facebook page or contact the PSA Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office,” Losare said.
