Retired cop arrested for illegal gun possession
ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A retired policeman was arrested Thursday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2022, after an unlicensed gun was recovered from his possession while in the compound of Malonoy Elementary School in Barangay Malonoy, Dao, Capiz. The Dao PNP identified the suspect as Jose Marin, 60, a resident of said place.

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A retired policeman was arrested Thursday afternoon, Jan. 27, 2022, after an unlicensed gun was recovered from his possession while in the compound of Malonoy Elementary School in Barangay Malonoy, Dao, Capiz.
The Dao PNP identified the suspect as Jose Marin, 60, a resident of said place.
Investigation by the Dao police indicated that some teachers of the school sought the help of the police after they saw Marin brandishing a handgun while walking around the school.
Recovered from the suspect was a caliber 9mm (TAURUS) with a magazine loaded with 15 live ammunitions of the same caliber, and a homemade .38 caliber revolver.
Marin failed to present valid permits for his guns.
The suspect is presently detained at Dao Municipal Police Station and was charged for violating Resolution 10728 or the COMELEC Gun Ban and Republic Act 10591 for illegal possession of firearms on Friday before the Capiz Provincial Prosecutors Office.
