One of Western Visayas’ most wanted men was arrested in a police operation in Dumangas, Iloilo.
Authorities identified the suspect as 39-year-old alias Kay, a resident of Barangay Sapao, Dumangas.
He was arrested by the Dumangas Municipal Police Station in Barangay Talusan on May 29, 2025.
The operation was led by Major Kenn Albert Lepsia based on an arrest warrant issued by Branch 68 of the 6th Regional Trial Court in Dumangas.
Kay is facing charges for violating Section 5, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
No bail was recommended for his temporary liberty.
The suspect had been in hiding since July 14, 2024, after evading arrest during a buy-bust operation in Barangay PD Monfort North, Dumangas.
He is currently ranked as the fifth most wanted person in Region 6.
Colonel Roland Bulalacao, Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) chief, commended the Dumangas MPS Tracker Team for successfully apprehending the suspect.
“Ilonggo cops are dedicated to apprehending all fugitives and neutralizing the drug network in Iloilo, ultimately making the province safer for everyone,” Bulalacao said.
He added that the arrest aligns with the Police Regional Office 6’s On TOP (Technology-Oriented Policing) initiative led by Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky.
The program aims to leverage technology in policing strategies across Western Visayas.
Bulalacao said the IPPO will continue to pursue individuals who remain at large.
