The Rotary Club of Bacolod relaunched the Art CAMP (Community Activity Mentorship Program) on Oct. 5, 2024, at the Bacolod City Public Library. The event featured instructor and visual artist Ms. Sony Golez, a past president of the Association of Artists of Bacolod-Negros and founder of the Silay United Guild of Artists (SUGA).
Now in its second year, the Art CAMP will bring together 35 underprivileged students, ages 6 to 9, for art classes spanning 12 sessions held every Saturday.
The artworks created during these sessions will be exhibited, and proceeds from the sale will go to the students to support their educational needs.
Children of Rotarians also participated in the program, seeking to develop their talents and express themselves through art.
The Art CAMP program aligns with Rotary International’s focus areas of supporting education and strengthening local economies. It remains a continuing project of the Rotary Club of Bacolod.
