Rain or Shine looks to maintain composure vs SMB in Game 2

AFTER the Game 1 meltdown in their semifinal series against powerhouse San Miguel last Saturday evening, Rain or Shine looks to redeem focus and double up their efforts against a veteran Beermen team.

Rain or shine led by as much as 13 points in the game but failed to clinch the win.

Elasto Painters head coach Caloy Garcia said that the only thing that hindered them from getting the win were turnovers.

“It’s just turnovers. Yung sa dulo kasi, I don’t want to say inexperience, but I think we just made mistakes that a normal player will do. I told them we just have to correct on that” Garcia said in the post game interview.

When asked about their performance, Garcia said, “I think we did a good job today, but they came out with the win. But still, I remain positive that we can try to at least pull one off and then let’s see after that.”

Rain or Shine is suffering from a banged-up roster with Maverick Ahanmisi and Ed Daquiaog still out.

Former PBA MVP James Yap, coming off an injury, played his first playoff game and contributed 5 points for the Elasto Painters.

On the contrary, SMB’s star wingman Marcio Lassiter is also out with a knee injury (MCL) and is expected to play after a month.

Both teams will set foot on the court today, 7 p.m. at the Mall of Asia Arena.
