Rafi Reavis is not retiring.
After parting ways with the Magnolia Hotshots Chicken Timplados, the veteran center will be staying in the big boys’ league as the Converge FiberXers decided to sign him for the upcoming PBA conference.
The development was announced on Sept. 27, 2025, after the FiberXers formally welcomed the defensive specialist via a social media post published on their official Facebook account.
“PURPLE GETS DEEPER. Two names, one mission. Welcome Kobe Bryant Monje and Rafi Reavis to the #PurpleNation!” Converge posted.
Last Aug. 16, Reavis hinted at hanging up his jersey following an unexpected split with Magnolia after 16 long years of partnership.
Reavis first joined Magnolia in 2009 after being traded by Barangay Ginebra San Miguel during the off-season.
After several playoff heartbreaks, Reavis captured his first title with Magnolia in the 2009–2010 PBA Philippine Cup.
That win sparked a championship culture that led to Magnolia’s rare grand slam during the 2013–2014 season.
Reavis was a key part of that historic run, alongside James Yap, Mark Barroca, Marc Pingris, Joe Devance, Ian Sangalang, and Peter Simon.
Since being drafted by the Coca-Cola Tigers in 2002, Reavis has become one of the most decorated active players in the league with 11 championships.
Reavis’ winning mentality and locker room leadership will be a huge boost for the young and retooled FiberXers squad under the new leadership of head coach Dennis “Delta” Pineda.
He is also expected to mentor the team’s talented frontcourt pool, led by the dynamic duo of Justin Arana and Justine Baltazar, two of the most promising big men in the PBA.
