PVL still waits for IATF decision on practice resumption

It has been four months since the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) wrote a letter of request to the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases regarding their practice resumption.

Up to this date, there is still no response.

With no reply or approval from the IATF, PVL president Ricky Palou can’t give the go signal to all the participating teams to resume with their training, even though the Philippines Football League (PFL) and the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) are steady with their approved licenses to go on with their practice sessions.

“Hanggang ngayon wala pa kaming balita. We’ve been following it up pero wala pa din. We’re probably looking at the earliest, as of now, siguro baka January na. Kasi it’s too late na. By the time we get approval, the teams will need to train siguro two months to get into shape,” said president Palou.

Palou added that the only way he thinks that the government and the IATF will approve their request is to present a volleyball bubble model just like what the PBA did.

“That’s the only thing that IATF will allow until may vaccine. Everything will have to be like a bubble,” Palou shared.

If the IATF will finally reply to their request, Palou said that it will be a great help for the advancement and development of the PVL amid the pandemic.
