The PLDT High Speed Hitters vented their ire on the Farm Fresh Foxies, 22-25, 25-23, 25-14, 25-16, in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Reinforced Conference on Oct. 25, 2025, at the Ynares Center.
Four days after losing to the import-less Cignal HD Spikers, which ended their three-conference, 15-game winning streak, the High Speed Hitters went guns blazing against the Foxies to return to the top spot of Pool A.
After a shaky start in the opening set, PLDT found its groove midway through the following period, led by the explosive one-two punch of Savannah Davison and import Anastasiia Bavykina, who took turns pummeling every Kim Fajardo special delivery.
Davison ignited a 4-1 scoring rally when Farm Fresh tied things up, followed by a clutch closeout performance from the Russian reinforcement, who sent home back-to-back spikes that equalized the match at one set apiece.
That was all the High Speed Hitters needed.
A set after Davison shrugged off her first-set woes and Bavykina became more involved on offense, PLDT started to impose its will on Farm Fresh, displaying high-level two-way volleyball efficiency.
Defense was always PLDT’s name of the game, and that’s what Majoy Baron, Kim Kianna Dy, and Bavykina flaunted in the final two sets.
PLDT sucked the life out of Farm Fresh after swatting away four crucial blocks that prevented the Foxies from replicating their first-set offensive schemes.
When the Foxies started to make a run in the fourth and final set, the duo of Baron and Davison anchored the PLDT middle coverage en route to a successful bounce-back win.
Davison spearheaded PLDT’s return to the PVL win column with 20 points built from 18 successful attacks alongside eight excellent receptions, while Bavykina added 18 markers.
Baron, who came alive in the last two sets, finished with 10 points, while her defensive partner, Dy, chipped in nine markers.
All these offensive numbers wouldn’t have been possible without Fajardo’s stellar orchestration, dishing out 21 excellent sets and 14 excellent digs.
The High Speed Hitters will look to maintain their momentum on Oct. 31 against the struggling NXLED Chameleons, while Farm Fresh aims to redeem itself on the same date against the tough Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
