The Nxled Chameleons continued their perfect run in the ongoing Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference after sweeping the Capital1 Solar Spikers, 25-18, 28-26, 25-18, on Feb. 7, 2026, at the Ynares Center in Montalban.
With the win, the Chameleons joined the Cignal Super Spikers as the only teams to reach a 2-0 win-loss record, with the PLDT High Speed Hitters trailing by a win to share the lead at the top spot.
After cruising past Capital1 with ease in the opening set, Nxled found themselves backed against the wall when the Solar Spikers dictated the pace to protect their two-point lead.
However, the Chameleons roared back in a crucial stretch as they completed a 3-0 run to retake the driver’s seat, climbing back from 17-19 down to a 20-19 lead.
The next game possessions were fought hard as Capital1 countered with its own executions, led by Bella Belen and Shaya Adorador, to move within a point, 24-25.
Spoiling Capital1’s chance to take a set were MJ Phillips and Brooke Van Sickle, who both provided the equalizing points that dragged the frame into an extended affair.
Capital1 was so close to tying the match at 1-all after needing only a point to proceed, but Phillips hammered a cross-court kill to force a decider.
The Solar Spikers came through in the clutch to bag another set point at 25-26, but Van Sickle replicated Phillips’ demoralizing conversion for another deadlock at 26-all.
Unfortunately, the thrilling second set was capped off anticlimactically when Capital1’s Pauline Gaston was whistled for an overreaching violation in her block attempt, rewarding Nxled with the come-from-behind set win for a 2-0 lead.
It was then all Nxled in the third and final set as the deflated Solar Spikers committed tons of unforced errors while slowing down when the Chameleons mounted a five-point lead.
Van Sickle came up big for the Chameleons once again after leading the pack with an all-around efficient performance of 15 points built from 12 successful attacks, 12 excellent digs, and 12 excellent receptions.
Backstopping the reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) was the trio of Myla Pablo, Lyann De Guzman, and Phillips, delivering 15, 13, and 10 points, respectively.
On the other hand, Belen stayed solid for the Solar Spikers despite the loss as the young stalwart supplied 23 markers derived from 21 successful attacks and nine excellent digs.
Nxled will look to extend its winning streak to three straight games on Feb. 14, 2026, against Cignal, while the Solar Spikers aim to bounce back on Feb. 12, 2026, against PLDT.
Minimal fixes made: Added a period in the caption, adjusted “their own” to “its own” for team-collective agreement, added commas around the modifier “led by Bella Belen and Shaya Adorador,” and tightened “after only needing” to “after needing only” for grammar.
