BACOLOD City – An alleged drug personality was injured after he was allegedly shot by another suspected drug personality at Barangay 2 here Friday morning.
Police Captain Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 2, identified the victim as Radja Sapancha, 28, of the said village.
Estopa said Sapancha was standing in an alley when suspect Brian Barredo of Barangay 1 arrived at around 7 a.m. and shot him. The suspect quickly fled.
Sapancha suffered a lone gunshot wound on his neck. He was brought to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here.
Police recovered a spent shell of .45-caliber ammunition.
Misunderstanding over an alleged failed illegal drug transaction probably triggered the incident, Estopa said.
Estopa also dismissed reports that Sapancha is a police asset. He said Sapancha was previously jailed for a drug offense two years ago while Barredo is also on their drugs watchlist.
