PSA trains Negros firms for 2026 business survey

BACOLOD CITY — The Philippine Statistics Authority Negros Occidental conducted a training for respondents to the 2026 Quarterly Survey of Philippine Business and Industry on Sept. 28 to improve the accuracy and timeliness of business data used for economic planning and policymaking.
The training at Park Inn by Radisson Hotel in Bacolod City provided representatives of sample establishments with a comprehensive walkthrough of the different modes of accomplishing the 2026 QSPBI questionnaires.
The survey generates quarterly information on the performance and economic activities of establishments across various industries.
PSA said reliable responses from businesses help strengthen the availability of timely statistics used in assessing economic conditions and supporting development planning.
Supervising Statistical Specialist Diesah S. Biaoco formally opened the activity and emphasized the importance of respondents’ cooperation in providing accurate and timely data.
Statistical Specialist II Antonietta A. Gador discussed the instructions for accomplishing the 2026 QSPBI questionnaires.
Statistical Specialist II Fredimar M. Gonzales demonstrated the use of the different types of 2026 QSPBI questionnaires.
OIC Regional Director of the PSA Regional Statistical Services Office-Negros Island Region John F. Campomanes also addressed the participants.
Campomanes emphasized the role of the QSPBI in generating reliable statistics for planning and policymaking.
Senior Statistical Specialist Ramon M. Locsin delivered the closing message and thanked participants for their cooperation and continued support in implementing the survey.
PSA Negros Occidental said active participation by establishments remains essential to producing reliable and timely business and industry statistics that can help guide decisions affecting the Philippine economy.
