The Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office VI will begin distributing questionnaires for the 2024 Survey of Energy Consumption of Establishments on Sept. 29, 2025, across Region VI or Western Visayas.
The nationwide survey aims to collect updated and comprehensive data on energy consumption patterns of both energy-producing and energy-consuming establishments.
The 2024 SECE is expected to support the measurement of national energy demand and guide the formulation of sustainable energy policies and strategic plans.
By collecting granular, establishment-level data, the survey will help the government pursue energy efficiency, resilience, and sustainability objectives across key sectors.
The SECE will gather detailed information on the quantity and types of fossil and biomass fuels purchased, the value of energy products acquired, and fuel inventories by type.
It will also collect data on the end-use of energy within establishments to assess how energy is used in daily operations.
From the collected data, sector-specific energy intensities will be derived and categorized into the industrial, service or commercial, transport, and agricultural sectors.
Additional indicators will be developed to monitor consumption trends and levels across the country’s economic sectors.
The PSA urged all selected establishments in the region to participate and provide honest and accurate responses to support evidence-based policymaking.
“Their cooperation is crucial in developing policies that will drive the Philippines toward a more sustainable and energy-efficient future,” the PSA said.
