The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office, with support from the PSA Regional Statistical Services Office VI (RSSO VI) mobile registration team, processed 551 civil registry documents during Government Service Day on May 20–21, 2025, at the Main Events Area, Capitol Grounds, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.
“The conduct of this activity is the agency’s support to the Manggahan Festival 2025 and the 33rd founding anniversary of the province of Guimaras,” said Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare.
Government Service Day is an annual event that brings government services closer to the public through accessible booths during major celebrations.
PSA Guimaras used the opportunity to provide vital civil registration services, including processing certificates of live birth, marriage, death, and certificates of no marriage.
“These activities are essential in securing documents that serve as proof of identity and citizenship, which are required for school enrollment, government transactions, and access to social services,” Losare said.
With technical support from the PSA RSSO VI mobile registration team, the regional office ensured efficient processing, allowing residents to receive requested documents within 30 to 40 minutes depending on internet connectivity.
“This outreach program also helped address common barriers such as distance and lack of information, which often delay access to civil registration services in remote communities,” Losare added.
In addition to civil registration, PSA Guimaras conducted Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) Step 2 registration for 11 individuals, capturing biometric data for their National ID enrollment.
The agency also issued four electronic Philippine Identification Cards (ePhilIDs), further supporting its commitment to convenient identification services.
PSA personnel authenticated three National IDs for beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), a government cash transfer initiative that helps low-income families access essential services.
“This authentication ensures the validity of IDs, which are essential for beneficiaries to continue receiving social assistance,” Losare said.
The PSA booth served as an interactive hub where attendees could seek assistance on civil registration and PhilSys matters.
Staff distributed Information, Education and Communication (IEC) materials about the National ID and released statistical updates on inflation, poverty, and agricultural surveys to raise awareness and promote participation.
Prizes for trivia challenges were also awarded to lucky winners.
“These materials aimed to clarify common questions, promote the benefits of the National ID, and emphasize the importance of proper documentation in accessing government programs,” Losare said.
In recognition of its service delivery, PSA Guimaras received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Provincial Government of Guimaras, signed by Gov. JC Rahman A. Nava.
“We also received the ‘Most Promising Booth’ award during the Government Service Day Booth Competition, honoring PSA Guimaras’ strong presence, public engagement, and commitment to people-centered services,” Losare said.
“This appreciation reflects the strong partnership between PSA and the provincial government in promoting inclusive and people-centered public services,” she added.
PSA Guimaras expressed gratitude to the RSSO VI mobile registration team, led by Statistical Specialist Jean Lito Esapol, for their dedication to serving the people of Guimaras.
“We reaffirm our commitment to providing accessible, efficient, and reliable civil registration and identification services to all Guimarasnons, ensuring every citizen’s right to identity and social inclusion is upheld,” Losare said.
