The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office has conducted its third-level training for machine data processing of the 2025 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) Visit 2, a step the agency said is key to producing timely and reliable household statistics.
The press release, dated March 2, 2026, and tagged as Reference No. PR2026-03-1845-31, said the two-day training was held Feb. 26–27, 2026, at the Provincial Statistical Office of Negros Occidental in Bacolod City.
PSA said the training was led by Negros Occidental PFP Resty John Bancruz, with APFPs Christian Leonard Amario and Eva Mae de la Serna, and was attended by 12 hired machine data processors.
The agency described the training as designed to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge and skills required for machine data processing within FIES.
PSA said machine data processing is essential for converting raw household survey data into accurate, timely, and reliable statistics that support evidence-based policymaking and development planning.
The primary objective, the PSA said, is to facilitate efficient processing of nationwide information while maintaining rigorous standards of accuracy, consistency, and confidentiality.
FIES is one of the government’s major household surveys used to measure how Filipino families earn and spend, and its results are commonly used by planners and policymakers as inputs for social and economic programs.
