PSA Negros Occidental holds Nutrition Month quiz

BACOLOD CITY — Nineteen Philippine Statistics Authority personnel tested their knowledge of nutrition and environmental sustainability during the “NutriQuiz Clash: Nourishing Minds, Protecting Nature” held July 26 as part of the 52nd Nutrition Month celebration.

The PSA Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office organized the activity to highlight the connection between human health and environmental protection.

The event opened with participants and staff reciting the 2026 Nutrition Month Pledge.

The recital renewed the office’s commitment to the L.I.K.A.S. campaign, or “Likas na Impormasyon at Kasanayan para sa Nutrisyon at Kalikasan.”

The campaign emphasizes that healthy living begins with sustainable practices.

The 19 contestants represented several statistical operations, including Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry machine processors, Community-Based Monitoring System field validators, and Updating of the List of Aquaculture Farms provincial clerks.

The competition also highlighted the role of data collectors and processors as advocates for personal wellness and environmental stewardship.

Nicklyn Ordonia of the Community-Based Monitoring System won first place after three rounds of competition.

Michelle Mayo of the Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry finished second.

Sharlyn Barilea of the Annual Survey of Philippine Business and Industry placed third.

Certificates of appreciation were awarded to all 19 participants after the quiz.
