The quiz bee is an annual event designed to promote awareness and enhance understanding of civil registration and vital statistics (CRVS).
The competition consisted of three rounds: 10 questions for the easy round, five for the average round, and three for the difficult round, with questions covering key CRVS concepts and regulations.
The activity aimed to underscore the importance of CRVS in governance, planning and development.
Statistical Analyst Ligaya M. Gillesania bested all competitors to claim first place.
Administrative Aide VI Shaznay A. Trujillo and Statistical Specialist II Thomas O. Gay placed second and third, respectively.
Administrative Aide VI Janelle D. Senosa placed fourth, while Assistant Birth Registration Coordinator Meryl G. Manlapao rounded out the top five.
The Civil Registration Month is observed every February under Presidential Proclamation No. 682, signed in 1991, to highlight the importance of civil registration in national development and to encourage public compliance with registration requirements.
Through initiatives like the provincial quiz bee, the PSA continues to reinforce the importance of accurate, timely and reliable civil registration and vital statistics in nation-building.
