The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office turned over essential supplies to Barangay Tigbon in the Municipality of Calatrava, Negros Occidental, on Jan. 17, 2026, reinforcing coordination between the national government and local communities.
The activity was led by Officer-in-Charge Diesah S. Biaoco of the PSA Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office and was part of the agency’s efforts to support grassroots governance by providing basic equipment for administrative and community use.
Barangay Captain Proceso Fernin received the donated items on behalf of Barangay Tigbon and conveyed his gratitude to the PSA Provincial Office, noting the positive impact the supplies would have on the barangay’s day-to-day operations.
The donated items included an industrial standing fan, several monobloc chairs and a foldable table, which are intended to improve the barangay’s capacity to conduct meetings and deliver community services.
To formalize the transfer, Fernin signed the official transmittal of supplies, marking the transparent turnover of the items from the national government agency to the local government unit.
A delegation from PSA Negros Occidental attended the turnover to ensure the smooth transition of the supplies and to underscore the agency’s commitment to maintaining strong partnerships with the municipalities it serves.
PSA officials present during the activity included Supervising Statistical Specialist II Azucena Delicano, Supervising Statistical Specialist II Rezilyn Infante, Senior Statistical Specialist Jerome C. Cadayona, Supervising Statistical Specialist II Antonietta Gador, Supervising Statistical Specialist II Fredimar Gonzales, Statistical Assistant Resty John Bancruz, Administrative Staff April Rhea Ponsica and Officer-in-Charge Diesah S. Biaoco.
The PSA said the initiative reflects how cooperation between national agencies and local governments can contribute to more effective governance, adding that beyond providing physical resources, the turnover helps build a foundation for continued collaboration in future statistical and community-based programs.
