The Philippine Statistics Authority–Guimaras intensified its National ID registration efforts in the first half of 2025 through mobile registrations and information caravans targeting Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) members and senior citizen pensioners.
A total of 1,106 4Ps beneficiaries and 86 social pensioners completed their registration, which included biometric data such as fingerprints, iris scans and front-facing photos.
In the same period, 473 ePhilIDs were printed and issued to 4Ps members and 44 to social pensioners, allowing them immediate access to valid government-issued identification while waiting for their physical ID cards.
Additionally, 2,928 authentication transactions were conducted for 4Ps beneficiaries.
“The National ID is more than just an ID—it is a gateway to digital and financial inclusion,” said Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare.
She emphasized that through continued coordination with the Department of Social Welfare and Development, Office of Senior Citizens Affairs and local government units, PSA Guimaras is reaching vulnerable groups directly.
To ensure no one is left behind, PSA Guimaras deployed mobile registration teams to far-flung barangays, prioritizing bedridden senior citizens, persons with disabilities and low-income households.
“The team also conducted house-to-house registration for individuals with limited mobility or access to transportation,” Losare said.
Barangay officials, municipal social welfare officers and local health workers provided support throughout the registration process.
As part of its public awareness campaign, PSA Guimaras launched a National ID Information Dissemination Caravan on June 27, 2025.
The caravan ran from Jordan to Nueva Valencia and concluded in Barangay Poblacion, Jordan, to raise awareness and support for the program.
“The event focused on increasing public knowledge about the National ID, encouraging participation and addressing community concerns,” Losare said.
It began at the Department of Agrarian Reform grounds, where the team handed out flyers and introduced the “PhilSys on Wheels” initiative to bring services closer to residents.
The team also made courtesy visits to the Bureau of Fire Protection, Jordan Water District and the Philippine College of Business and Accountancy, where they met with school officials.
A similar visit to the Nueva Valencia Mayor’s Office further strengthened local support for the National ID system.
In Barangay Poblacion, PSA Guimaras discussed the three National ID formats: the physical PVC PhilID, the ePhilID and the digital PhilID.
They clarified that both the ePhilID and PVC-type are equally valid for government and private transactions.
During the open forum, participants raised concerns about the validity of the ePhilID and how to correct civil status records.
The PSA team provided guidance on the update process and affirmed the legal validity of the ePhilID.
During the caravan, 19 individuals registered on-site, including seven senior citizens and five 4Ps beneficiaries.
These registrants are among the 86 pensioners and 1,106 4Ps members recorded for the first half of 2025.
“The remaining registrants were individuals aged 5 to 59 years, showing the broad reach of PSA Guimaras’ mobile registration efforts,” Losare said.
The event drew more than 100 participants, including representatives from DAR-Guimaras, BFP-Guimaras, Jordan Water District, PCBA, and the Municipal Hall of Nueva Valencia.
Local government officials, barangay leaders, civil registrars, social workers, students and residents of Poblacion also joined the discussions and forum.
With growing awareness and community involvement, PSA Guimaras continues to encourage unregistered 4Ps members, pensioners and eligible individuals to participate in future registration activities.
“These efforts help build a more inclusive, accessible and efficient identification system for all Filipinos,” Losare said.
