In its continuing effort to bring government services closer to the people, the Philippine Statistics Authority Guimaras Provincial Statistical Office conducted Mobile Civil Registration Services at its provincial office, streamlining access to essential documents and strengthening its National ID advocacy.
The event, facilitated by the Civil Registry Service – Regional Statistical Services Office VI mobile team, served 420 clients requesting civil registry documents, including birth, marriage and death certificates, on Aug. 22, 2025.
To meet high demand, the mobile CRS extended operations until 8:30 p.m., efficiently processing 947 Security Paper documents and collecting PHP108,335.
This milestone was made possible through the support of OIC-Regional Director Nelida C. Amolar and Provincial Statistics Officer Nelida B. Losare, along with the commitment of Provincial Focal Person Grace Buenasalbas and the CRS team led by Jean Lito Esapol.
Losare said the mobile team’s presence ensured efficient, convenient and responsive service delivery—minimizing the need for residents to travel or endure long wait times.
Seizing the opportunity of high foot traffic, PSA Guimaras launched an extensive information campaign on the Philippine Identification System.
PSA personnel explained the objectives of the National ID, highlighting its function as a single, unified ID system that simplifies transactions, enhances identity verification and improves access to public and private services.
The team introduced the three forms of the National ID: the physical PVC card, the printed paper ePhilID and the digital version accessible through the eGov PH app.
“All three forms carry the same usage, validity and acceptance, and can be used in all transactions—whether with government offices or private institutions,” Losare said.
Practical uses of the ID were also discussed, including claiming government benefits, opening bank accounts, applying for financial services and completing transactions that require valid identification.
Losare emphasized that the campaign underscored PhilSys’ role in promoting financial inclusion, particularly for marginalized Filipinos who lack traditional IDs.
To build trust and awareness, PSA Guimaras addressed common questions about the registration process, demographic updates, ID authentication and replacement procedures.
“PSA personnel also reassured clients of the security features embedded in the National ID, which safeguard the identity and personal information of cardholders,” Losare said.
Through this integrated initiative, PSA Guimaras showcased how public outreach can advance both civil registration and National ID implementation.
“The dual activity not only provided essential services but also created an avenue to broaden awareness and encourage wider participation in the National ID system,” Losare said.
She added that with 420 clients served and each one receiving orientation on the National ID, PSA is reinforcing its dual mandate of universal civil registration and promotion of the National ID as a game-changer in public service delivery.
The success of the initiative reflects PSA’s commitment to delivering inclusive, accessible and people-centered services.
“By working closely with RSSO VI and through the dedication of the National ID team, PSA Guimaras reaffirms its commitment to ensuring that every Guimarasnon is civilly registered, recognized and empowered through the full implementation of the National Identification System,” Losare said.
