Hundreds of wanted persons and violators of special laws were netted as the Police Regional Office (PRO)-6 went full force in its enhanced managing police operations (EMPO).
The weeklong EMPO, dubbed as “Birada Semana from Nov 9 to 15, 2020, delivered notable operational accomplishments.
Birada Semana is an activity that aims to sustain police efforts in accomplishing targets through deliberate and sustained operations.
Like in previous months, the recent Birada Semana focused on accounting of wanted and most wanted persons and accomplishments on illegal drugs, gambling, and loose firearms.
Different provincial and city police offices conducted 203 operations against wanted persons which resulted in the arrest of 212 individuals.
On the other hand, 53 operations were conducted against most wanted persons that led to the arrest of 54 persons.
For the campaign against illegal drugs, 49 operations were conducted resulting in the arrest of 62 drug personalities.
The confiscated illegal drugs weighed 141.717 grams and valued at P963,873.06.
Meanwhile, 91 operations were conducted against illegal gambling that resulted in the arrest of 297 persons.
In the enforcement of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulations Act) and R.A. 9516 or the illegal possession of explosives, policemen in the region conducted 17 operations and arrested 17 violators.
22 explosives and 274 firearms were either surrendered or recovered.
The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOcPPO) posted the highest accomplishments in the arrest of most wanted and wanted persons, operations against illegal drugs, and downstream of anti-illegal gambling operations.
On the other hand, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) topped in enforcement of RA 10591/9516 and in the accounting of surrendered/recovered firearms.
