BACOLOD CITY — The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) organized a mass wedding for its personnel and their partners on Friday, Feb. 20.
Police Brig. Gen. Jaime Seriña III, director of the Philippine National Police (PNP) Chaplain Service, officiated the union of the four couples at Saint Michael the Archangel Chapel inside the Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) in Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano Sr. in Barangay Estefania here.
The newlyweds are Police Cpl. Loyd and Leraffy May Navales, Police Cpl. Michael John and Patrolwoman Krisyl Joy Flores, Police Chief Master Sgt. Alain Tamparon and Apple Gomez, and Police Cpl. Romil Bedlan and Jenny Rose Jimenez.
Police Lt. Col. Joem Malong, PRO-NIR spokesperson, said the police officers include two from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and one each from Nocppo and PRO-NIR headquarters.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, PRO-NIR director, along with family and friends of the couples, witnessed the ceremony, which the regional office described as a celebration of love, faith and lifelong commitment in service to both family and nation.
The regional office said the ceremony was not merely a personal milestone for the newlyweds but a symbol of the organization’s commitment to nurturing strong family bonds, reinforcing moral values and promoting unity within the police community.
By celebrating the unions, the PRO-NIR underscored that the strength of its personnel is deeply intertwined with the well-being of their families, who provide them moral support, stability and inspiration to serve with dedication and integrity.
The mass wedding is part of a broader tradition within the PNP of organizing group ceremonies for uniformed personnel who may not have the means or time to hold individual weddings due to the demands of their service. The PNP Chaplain Service regularly conducts such events across the country to support the welfare and family life of police officers.
