BACOLOD CITY — The municipality of Bacong in Negros Oriental has become the latest local government unit to inaugurate a standard-type police station building in the Negros Island Region.
Police Col. Gilbert Gorero, chief of the regional staff of the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), represented PRO-NIR Director Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay during the inauguration, led by Bacong town Mayor Lenin Alviola on Thursday.
Also present were Police Col. Criscente Tiguelo, director of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, and Police Maj. Vann Joel Tingson, chief of the Bacong Municipal Police Station.
According to PRO-NIR, the new facility signifies full operational readiness to support effective law enforcement, enhance police visibility, and provide faster and more accessible services to the public.
Ibay thanked the local government for its support and said the modern and conducive facility is expected to motivate police personnel to exceed expectations, remain prepared, and implement proactive policing measures.
He said sustained coordination and shared responsibility between the local government unit and PRO-NIR would help advance infrastructure initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and order at the grassroots level.
Ibay also assured residents that the police will continue working tirelessly to keep Bacong safe and peaceful.
Earlier this week, PRO-NIR also inaugurated a standard-type, three-story police station in Pulupandan, Negros Occidental, as part of its continuing efforts to modernize police facilities across the region.
