BACOLOD CITY – The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) has confiscated PHP1.402 million worth of suspected shabu in two-day anti-illegal drug operations here and in Negros Oriental on March 6 and 7.
Two high-impact operations under the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO), were conducted by authorities in Dumaguete City on Saturday, resulting in the seizure of PhP 790,840 worth of suspected shabu.
The first buy-bust operation was reported in Zone 7, Barangay Looc, leading to the arrest of alias “Epax,” 25, and tagged as a high value individual. He allegedly yielded 50 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP340,000.
It was followed by a drug raid through a search warrant for illegal drugs in Zone 2 Upper in the said village, apprehending alias “Tony,” 45, for the recovery of 66.3 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP450,840. He was also classified as a high value individual.
According to PRO-NIR, these back-to-back operations in the province underscored the precision, intelligence-driven strategy, and seamless coordination of law enforcement units in dismantling illegal drug networks and safeguarding communities throughout the region.
By acting swiftly on verified information and leveraging coordinated planning, operatives were able to neutralize key targets and secure substantial quantities of suspected illegal drugs, preventing them from reaching the streets.
Meanwhile, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) also arrested 35-year-old “JR,” in Barangay Estefania here on Friday, for the confiscation of 90 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP612,000.
Police Lt. Richard Legada, assistant CDEU head, said the suspect was reportedly actively involved in illegal drug transactions in Victorias City, and E.B. Magalona in Negros Occidental, Fortune Town, Barangay Estefania and Barangay Bata here.
Legada said the suspect was also tagged as a high value individual, and has been allegedly engaging in illegal drugs since 2017.
