The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development 6 (DSWD) sent non-monetary aid to Typhoon-stricken areas in Luzon.
The PRO-6 on Monday said it transported 200 sacks of rice, 5 sacks of sugar, and 50 boxes of noodles to the PNP National Headquarters.
Brigadier General Rene Pamuspusan, Western Visayas police chief, said the goods will be distributed to survivors of typhoons “Rolly” and “Ulysses.”
Pamuspusan also assured that the relief good will reach the disaster-hit areas in Luzon, through the national headquarters, the soonest time possible.
“We hope that these goods will be of help to our brothers and sisters who are affected by the recent disasters in Luzon,” Pamuspusan said.
The donated goods came from the lower units and the regional headquarters.
The goods will be delivered to the Police Community Affairs Development Group in Camp Crame who is in charge of the collection and distribution of donations in the PNP.
Meanwhile, the DSWD-6 said it prepared a total of 20,000 Family Food Packs (FFPs) for relief augmentation to Cagayan Valley and Region IV-A.
Of the total number, 15,000 FFPs will be given to Cagayan Valley and 5,000 FFPs to Region IV-A.
Twelve trucks carrying the assistance are now on their way to the respective destinations.
The said relief augmentation was provided to replenish the goods of Region IV-A and Cagayan Valley after being depleted due to the large number of families and individuals affected by succeeding typhoons that hit the country.
Meanwhile, the Iloilo City government has earlier appealed to all Ilonggos to help the victims of massive flooding in Luzon due to typhoon.
“Goods and material donations could be delivered at the City Social Welfare and Development Office in Molo.”
