A murder suspect from Pototan, Iloilo, was arrested on the afternoon of May 24 during a police operation in Hamtic, Antique.
The suspect, identified as alias John, 25, of Barangay Cau-ayan, Pototan, was apprehended months after a manhunt was launched against him.
Officers from the Pototan Municipal Police Station caught the suspect at his hideout in Barangay Masanag, Hamtic.
His arrest was based on a warrant for murder issued on Feb. 7, 2025, by Branch 68 of the Regional Trial Court in Dumangas, Iloilo.
No bail was recommended for his temporary release.
John was accused in a fatal stabbing that occurred in Pototan in May 2024.
Authorities tracked him down after receiving reports that he was hiding in Antique province.
He is now in custody and will be turned over to the issuing court.
