The Commission on Population and Development–Western Visayas awarded a plaque and certificate of recognition to the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office 6 during the 2024 Population and Development Awards for Western Visayas held at SM City Bacolod on March 11, 2025.
DOLE RO 6 was recognized for its commitment to implementing, coordinating, and localizing the Population and Development Plan of Action (PPD-POA) 2023–2028.
The plan aims to optimize demographic opportunities, address challenges, and help accelerate sustainable and inclusive development at all levels.
DOLE RO 6 has actively promoted the PPD-POA and the importance of addressing population and development concerns among labor sectors through its field offices.
Through its Family Welfare Program, DOLE RO 6 supports the Philippine Health and Nutrition Program, reproductive health and responsible parenthood, gender equality, and other components of the PPD-POA.
Regional Director Atty. Sixto T. Rodriguez Jr., along with Atty. Jorge S. Ferraris II, received the awards and affirmed a continued and stronger partnership for the benefit of workers and the Filipino people.
