Pontevedra man nabbed with gun, suspected shabu

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A 43-year-old man was arrested Thursday afternoon, July 16, in Barangay Lantangan, Pontevedra, Capiz, for allegedly possessing an unlicensed firearm and suspected shabu.
The Pontevedra Municipal Police Station identified the suspect only as Toto, a resident of the village.
Police said a concerned citizen reported seeing a person carrying a firearm of unknown caliber in the area.
Officers responded and intercepted the suspect.
During a body search, officers said they recovered a .38-caliber revolver and three live rounds of ammunition.
Police also seized a sachet containing 0.14 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of PHP 952.
The suspect remained in the custody of the Pontevedra police.
Police said they planned to file complaints Friday, July 17, with the Capiz Provincial Prosecutor’s Office for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) and Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
