The Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) successfully arrested 17 drug suspects and confiscated 390.8 grams of shabu worth approximately Php 2,657,440 in a series of 10 anti-drug operations conducted on May 20, 2024.
The operations were part of a coordinated effort to combat illegal drug activities across the region.
Among those arrested, three individuals were classified as high-value targets, while the remaining 14 were identified as street-level offenders.
The operations were distributed among various police units as follows:
– Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office: Conducted 5 operations, confiscating 39.80 grams of shabu.
– Iloilo Police Provincial Office: Conducted 2 operations, seizing 233 grams of shabu.
– Iloilo City Police Office: Conducted 2 operations, seizing approximately 106 grams of shabu.
– Capiz Police Provincial Office: Conducted 1 operation, seizing around 12 grams of suspected shabu.
The most significant drug haul occurred in Pototan, Iloilo, where police seized approximately 230 grams of shabu valued at Php 1,564,000 from two individuals during an afternoon operation. This particular operation was carried out by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office, Drug Enforcement Unit, and Pototan Municipal Police Station.
Brigadier General Jack L. Wanky, the top cop of Western Visayas, praised the operatives for their dedication and success in the anti-drug campaign.
“Kahanga-hanga ang inyong ipinapakita na dedikasyon sa inyong sinumpaang trabaho. Ipagpatuloy at paigtingin pa natin ang ating kampanya laban sa illegal na droga dito sa ating rehiyon. Hindi tayo titigil hangga’t may natitira pang imbolbado sa illegal na kalakalan,” said PBGen Wanky.
