The PLDT High Speed Hitters weathered a late rally from the Chery Tiggo Crossovers, 25–17, 25–17, 19–25, 24–26, 15–8, to capture the first-ever Premier Volleyball League On Tour championship on Aug. 17, 2025, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
After storming to a 2–0 lead, PLDT looked headed for a sweep, but Chery Tiggo fought back to take the next two sets and force a decider.
Everything clicked for PLDT early, with efficient two-way play placing them just one set away from the preseason crown.
Chery Tiggo responded with a gritty comeback led by veteran outside hitter Ara Galang and clutch plays from Princess Robles.
With their title hopes slipping away, PLDT reset in the fifth set and leaned on their middle blockers for a strong finish.
The duo of Majoy Baron and Mika Reyes anchored PLDT’s defense, making it difficult for Chery Tiggo to score at the net.
Kim Kianna Dy, one of the team’s top defenders, added more pressure at the net to spark a 4–1 lead in the final frame.
Chery Tiggo trimmed the gap with two points, but PLDT broke the set open with a 9–3 scoring run to go up 13–5.
The Crossovers denied one championship point off an Alina Bicar score, but Dy ended the match with an off-the-block kill to seal the win.
Reyes turned back the clock with 20 points off 17 attacks and three blocks and was named PVL On Tour Finals Most Valuable Player.
Savannah Davison led all scorers with 23 points, including 19 attacks, while Baron and Dy chipped in 13 markers each.
Setter Kim Fajardo orchestrated the offense with 25 excellent sets.
PLDT claimed the PHP1 million top prize, while Chery Tiggo earned PHP750,000 for finishing second.
