The PLDT High Speed Hitters proved they are still the Creamline Cool Smashers’ kryptonite after clinching a sweep, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23, to kick off their Premier Volleyball League (PVL) All-Filipino Conference on a high note on Feb. 5, 2026, at the Playtime Filoil Centre.
With the 3-0 win, the High Speed Hitters racked up their fifth consecutive victory over the Cool Smashers, which began in early 2024 and has spanned three consecutive seasons.
Despite Creamline’s retooled and healthy roster, with the addition of libero Jen Nierva and Jia Morado-de Guzman’s return to active duty, PLDT still had its number and dominated on both ends of the floor.
Superstar outside hitter Savannah Davison led the relentless PLDT attack and provided a major boost after erupting for 13 points in the first set alone.
With Creamline keeping up and attempting to inch closer in the final six points, Davison delivered three crucial points to give the High Speed Hitters a 1-0 lead.
When Davison went to the back-row rotation, the 1-2 punch of Kim Kianna Dy and Jovelyn Prado answered the call offensively, which set the tone for a one-sided showcase in the second set.
It was in the clutch stretch of the third set where PLDT nearly lost its grip on the game after the Cool Smashers tied it at 23-all off back-to-back errors from Davison and setter Kim Fajardo.
However, Davison was quick to rebound from her unforced error after scoring a spike that put PLDT at match point, backstopped by Prado’s defensive prowess that officially sealed its first win of the All-Filipino Conference.
Davison was a force to be reckoned with after putting on a scoring masterclass with 26 points built from 23 successful attacks and three kill blocks, alongside 11 excellent digs and 10 excellent receptions.
Dy delivered nine points on seven successful attacks, while the duo of Prado and Majoy Baron chipped in seven and six points, respectively.
The High Speed Hitters will look to stay undefeated on Feb. 12, 2026, against the Bella Belen-led Capital1 Solar Spikers, while Creamline aims to pick up its first win on Feb. 10, 2026, against Eya Laure and the Choco Mucho Flying Titans.
