The PLDT High Speed Hitters got more reinforcement for the upcoming Premier Volleyball League (PVL) Invitational Conference after signing two-time NCAA Best Setter Venice Puzon.
PLDT made their recent off-season move official after welcoming the crafty setter last June 10, 2023 via a team announcement on their social media accounts.
Puzon, who is the superstar setter of the Lyceum Lady Pirates, still has one more eligible playing year in the NCAA and will be listed as a guest player in the PVL Invitational Conference.
“The team is pleased to welcome Lyceum Lady Pirate’s Venice Puzon, a two-time NCAA best setter, who will be joining the High Speed Hitters in the upcoming PVL Invitational Conference via a guest license,” PLDT wrote.
Puzon’s addition will be a huge boost for PDLT’s bid of a successful PVL postseason campaign after finishing the last two conferences in the Top 4 and is yet to enter the grand final stage.
Two weeks ago, the High Speed Hitters also tapped the services of former Army Lady Trooper Royse Tubino who will also be a guest player in the conference.
With Tubino’s addition, the High Speed Hitters will finally cover up for their inconsistent offense and is expected to bring an immediate scoring impact.
PLDT was near to clinching its postseason hopes last conference but only settled for fourth place behind F2 Logistics, Creamline, and Petro Gazz.
Tubino will be teaming up with Puzon, Mika Reyes, Rhea Dimaculangan, Mich Morente, Jovelyn Prado, Mean Mendrez, Kat Arado, and Jules Samonte.
