PHP 986,000 ‘shabu’ seized in Bacolod drug busts

Three individuals, including a teenager, were arrested in separate buy-bust operations in Bacolod City over the weekend, resulting in the seizure of PHP 986,000 worth of suspected shabu.
On Nov. 28, 18-year-old “Fran” of Barangay Estefania and 26-year-old “Ann” of Barangay Tangub were caught in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Tangub.
Authorities recovered 80 grams of suspected shabu from the two, with a standard drug price of PHP 544,000.
Fran has been classified by police as a high-value individual.
Both suspects are currently detained at Police Station 8.
The following day, on Nov. 29, another operation conducted by Police Station 2 in Barangay 8 led to the arrest of 22-year-old “Mar” of Barangay 12.
Confiscated from Mar were 65 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 442,000.
Police Brig. Gen. Arnold Thomas Ibay, director of the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), commended the Bacolod City Police Office for the successive operations.
The PRO-NIR reiterated its strong stance against illegal drugs, stating the campaign “will not falter, slow down, or waver.”
Meanwhile, in a separate incident in Negros Occidental, an 18-year-old man identified only as “Inggo” was arrested in Barangay Don Salvador Benedicto, Pontevedra, on Nov. 26.
Police seized 25 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect, with an estimated street value of PHP 170,000.
The suspect was tagged as a newly identified individual involved in the drug trade.
