In preparation for the upcoming 2020 Olympic Qualifying Tournament in India, the Chooks-to-go-Pilipinas 3×3 team is doing whatever it can to prepare for the event starting with a sweeping win in Jakarta tournament.
The team composed of Alvin Pasaol, Santi Santillan, Troy Ryke, and PH’s top player in the 3×3, Joshua Munzon took down the hosts in the championship round, 21-17, to win the tourney.
The match against Jakarta pushed the PH squad’s limits as the resilient hosts answered everything that the talented Chooks-to-go trio made.
The game was deadlocked at 17 during the 3:17 mark but Munzon and Pasaol took matters into their own hands as they put up a scoring run by slicing through the tough defense of Jakarta to seal the championship for PH.
Pasaol scored a game-high 10 points, followed by Munzon with 7, Santillan with 3, and Ryke contributing 1 point.
The PH 3×3 squad had an impressive 4-0 record during the eliminations after taking down world number 40 Chinese-Taipei, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
