John Leo Dato continues to impress boxing analysts after knocking down Mexican Angel Guevara in the third round of their featherweight clash.
Despite a distorted 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Filipino rising star set things aside and remained focused on the opportunity given to him.
His convincing win racked his winning streak to 15 with no defeats including 10 knockouts after turning professional.
The Mexican corner was in awe of Dato’s performance that provided them no answer against the surging and aggressive Filipino slugger.
The Papas and Beer in Rosarito Beach, Baja, Mexico was filled with PH pride after Dato’s flurry of combinations cornered Guevara which forced him to take heavy bombs from Dato.
Guevara went down in the first series of combinations Dato unleashed but was able to beat the count and got back on his feet.
Soon as the referee resumed the match, Dato came in hounding Guevara and put him on the ropes, receiving lethal punches that put the icing on the cake.
