PFL organizers eager to stage season before 2020 ends

The Philippines’ premier professional football league is doing all that they can to push through with its season this 2020.

The Philippine Football League (PFL) has been keen and hands-on since they were allowed to get back to training by the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases.

Abiding by all the protocols imposed on them by the Department of Health (DOH) and the IATF, the PFL organizers are hoping to set foot on the pitch before the year ends.

However, PFL commissioner Coco Torre said that their ultimate goal of being COVID-free for the remaining months of the year would not be easy.

“The consideration for the approval of the season restart depends on the success of how we can conduct the training. We really hope that we have zero infections,” said commissioner Torre.

After the IATF decided to put the PBA and PFL’s practice on hold last week due to Manila’s revert from GCQ to MECQ, they have decided to allow these pro leagues to resume for the second time this September.

“Our target is 2020. That is really one of our short-term goals,” said commissioner Torre proudly and confidently.
