One of the top teams in the Premier Volleyball League (PVL) let go of five players and will enter free agency as the next season approaches.
Petro Gazz is showing signs of a rebuild after confirming that they will release outside hitter Jonah Sabete, middle blockers Jeanette Panaga and Cherry Nunag, opposite hitter Kai Nepomuceno-Baloaloa, and outside hitter Jovie Prado.
After a couple of stunning conferences where they reached the PVL finals, Petro Gazz was always one of the dark horses in the league with their balanced style of offense. Also, Petro Gazz was always one of the toughest in terms of defense where Panaga and Nunag contributed the majority in their blocks total.
“We’re thankful for all the years you’ve played for the Petro Gazz family! Forever grateful for all the amazing memories,” read Petro Gazz in their team statement. Despite the absence of their five key players, Petro Gazz’s firepower still remained with the presence of Gretchel Soltones, Jerrili Malabanan, and Ivy Perez.
